Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.We are looking for a talented lawyer to join the Amazon Legal team supporting Amazon Leo. You will be supporting Amazon Leo's commercial customer and channel partner contracts, with a focus on supporting customer and partner engagements in North America and South America. You will structure, draft, and negotiate a range of agreements, and counsel the business team on issues that arise in customer and partner engagements. The successful candidate will develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways and build processes that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly.We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about technology, enjoys being continually challenged, and demonstrates sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.Export Control Requirement:Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Some travel, domestic and international, will be required.Key job responsibilities- Structure, draft, and negotiate comprehensive commercial contracts for customer and channel partner engagements- Develop strategic legal approaches that balance risk management with business flexibility- Provide nuanced legal counsel on complex customer and partner interactions- Create scalable legal processes that support rapid business growth- Collaborate across teams to ensure smooth implementation of legal strategiesBASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 5+ years of legal experience- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent- Experience in transactional and technology licensing or equivalent- Speak, write, and read fluently in SpanishPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house workAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
