With hospitals and facilities in over 9 states, our consistent approach to healthcare allows us to live our mission and ensure that our communities are living fuller, healthier lives.Job Description:ANNUAL COMPENSATION $142,188 - $151,491PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Obtains patient histories and performs physical examinations; notifies physician of subsequent clinical findings, evaluates patients on a continual basis. Formulates the appropriate differential diagnosis based on history, physical examination, and clinicals findings.Performs patient triage and determines the urgency of physician evaluation*Prescribes pharmacologic agents and nonpharmacological therapies according to standard protocol.Provides symptom management for side effects related to oncologic treatment.Performs minor invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to patient-care needs as determined by the standardized procedures developed by the physician(s) and nurse practitioner (including but not limited to bone marrow biopsy and aspiration, lumbar puncture, thoracentesis, and percutaneous indwelling central catheter placement.Evaluates and analyzes patient progress and responses to disease and treatment, initiates therapeutic intervention, and determines clinical effectiveness of treatment plan, and alters the plan if necessary.Provides psychosocial support including facilitation of support groups and refers to appropriate personnel/departments and community resources.Educates patients and their families regarding examination findings, abnormal laboratory results, treatment plan, and appropriate follow-up and implications for health and recovery.•Develops/implements/evaluates appropriate materials to facilitate the education of patients/families.Provides daily informal education to other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes.Provides formal education to staff at least quarterly in varying formats.Develops, coordinates &/or participates in community education program.Collaborates with physician team and Oncology Services Director to design, implement, and market the comprehensive oncology program.Defines, implements, and evaluates the effectiveness of oncology programs in conjunction with participating physicians and corporates appropriate research findings into clinical practice.Assists physicians/NPs in developing and revising clinical practice guidelines.Provides consultation to nursing, medical, case management and ancillary departments as requested.Collects and analyzes data regarding treatment process, patient outcome, cost and patient assessment of the quality of care.Determines eligibility of patients for entry into clinical trials based on findings.Presents outcomes to staff, physicians, and administration in varying corporates current standard of care and evidence-based guidelines into daily practice.Represents clinical nursing leadership on departments and/or hospital committees/projects in area of specialty.Participates in determining goals/objectives/strategic plan for the oncology program.Participates in professional organizations, attends professional workshops/conferences in area of specialty.Participates in community-based activities.This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties.
