CHEP is looking for a Sr Electrical Controls Engineer to join our team remotely, in support of global projects!The Senior Electrical Controls Engineer will lead the development and support of complex automated solutions allowing CHEP to reach its goals of a touchless plant. The Senior Electrical Controls Engineer will apply knowledge of engineering principles to support the development of automated solutions, programmable logic control systems (PLCs), instrumentation and IT Solutions.This role will provide senior level Electrical Controls support for new and old technologies in CHEP. This might include technologies involving Networking, Vision, RFID, Programming, Marking, or other systems that support team activities.*This position requires up to 50% travel. Candidates must live near a major US airport with ability to travel regularly.Key Responsibilities May Include:Lead the full lifecycle of engineering projects, from concept development and design to commissioning and operational handoff, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, and operational objectives.Ensure adherence to global safety standards (e.g., ISO, OSHA), risk assessments, and regulatory requirements during the design, installation, and operational phases of projects.Identify and implement opportunities for process optimization, focusing on reliability, maintainability, and productivity to reduce downtime and improve system performance.Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance on engineering best practices, troubleshooting issues, and mentoring junior engineers to foster technical growth and innovation.Partner with Operations, IT, Safety, and other stakeholders to align project objectives, address technical challenges, and drive seamless integration across functions.Oversee supplier and contractor activities, ensuring adherence to standards, timelines, and budget constraints during project execution.Develop training materials and upskill teams on new technologies, systems, and best practices, ensuring proper documentation and operational handoff.Experience- What you will bringExperience in Electrical/Control systems in a relay/PLC based controls design,development, implementation in a fast-paced industrial, logistics, production manufacturing environmentOperations experience, supporting productionProject engineering and/or related project management experienceExperience with Simulation Data Collection and ApplicationExperience with safety programming with Rockwell Studio 5000 and Asset CentreExperience with networked devices using EtherNet or DeviceNetExperience with electrical theory, Robotics, Controls components, automated equipmentDemonstrated experience with Functional Safety standards (IEC 62061, IEC 13849, or IEC 61508)Experience with conveyor, sortation, scanning/vision, shuttle systems, AMRs and roboticsSkills & KnowledgeDegree in Electrical engineering, Engineering Technology, or related fieldProficiency with Rockwell devicesBasic Knowledge of Robotic Safety and programmingFamiliar with 13849-1 [ISO standard]Able to work in a remote environmentWhat we Offer:Competitive Pay + Annual BonusBenefits Day 1!401K w/ company match (up to 4%)FREE company-paid vision, short-term disability, and life insurance!!Employee Stock Match Program!Tuition reimbursement, parental leave, childcare assistance, profit sharing, and MORE!Remote TypeFully RemoteSkills to succeed in the roleAdaptabilité, Capacité ? assumer la responsabilité, Empathie, Expérimentation, Travail d'équipe, Understand CustomersWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer, and we are committed to developing a diverse workforce in which everyone is treated fairly, with respect, and has the opportunity to contribute to business success while realizing his or her potential.
