Job Title: Field Service Technician - Power GenerationJob Summary:A well-established company is seeking a Field Service Technician to provide maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services for power generation equipment. This role involves diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring optimal operation of generators and related components.Duties/Responsibilities:Consult with the Service Manager to plan an effective work and travel schedule based on customer needs, machine location, and parts availability.Provide tools, parts, and necessary arrangements to perform repairs, typically at customer sites.Report key job details, including customer information, machine descriptions, malfunctions, work time, mileage, and other relevant data for accurate billing and record-keeping.Perform preventive maintenance on generator sets, including fluid and filter changes, system inspections, belt and hose checks, exhaust system evaluations, and load bank testing.Test and inspect automatic transfer switches and file proper documentation for each service performed.Continuously improve technical skills through company-sponsored training programs and technical literature.Maintain a professional image by ensuring a neat appearance and keeping the service truck clean and organized.Required Skills/Abilities:Strong technical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Proficiency in using a multimeter.Must have own tools.Good computer skills.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.Professional attitude with the ability to work directly with customers.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as bend, stoop, and climb as needed.Willingness to stay overnight for out-of-town assignments when required.Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, including 24/7 availability when necessary.Education and Experience:High school diploma or GED equivalent.Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (must be insurable under corporate policy).Must be DOT certifiable (must be at least 21 years old for certification).Experience with diesel and/or gas engines, including service and repair.Basic electrical knowledge, including wiring diagrams, installation, and repair of electrical components and circuits (AC and DC).Power generation experience preferred.Benefits:Medical/PrescriptionDentalVisionVacation10 Paid Holidays401(k)#IND1
