Art Teacher (High School / Part-Time) (Internal Only)

Job Description: New London Public Schools is seeking a motivated and creative Art Teacher (.2 position) to support our visual arts program for middle and high school students. This role involves delivering engaging instruction in a variety of visual art media and techniques, fostering creativity, and encouraging artistic growth in an inclusive, student-centered environment. Primary Responsibilities: Teach visual arts classes to middle and high school students, covering a range of media and techniques. Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state standards and school curriculum. Inspire creativity and critical thinking through hands-on projects and art theory. Maintain a positive classroom environment conducive to learning and artistic exploration. Collaborate with faculty on interdisciplinary projects and school art events. Minimum Qualifications: Valid State of Connecticut teaching certification (042) for Visual Arts. Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching high school visual arts across multiple media. Ability to foster creativity and critical thinking in a diverse arts-focused setting. Strong classroom management and collaborative skills.
