The educational experience provided to our students and their families is rooted in a higher calling from God to honor and celebrate the gifts He has given us.Job SummaryThe Music Teacher at a Catholic school is responsible for developing and leading a vibrant music program that supports the school’s academic goals and faith-based mission. This teacher inspires students to explore music through singing, instruments, rhythm, theory, and performance, while integrating Catholic traditions and liturgical music.Job ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver music instruction to students in various grade levels (PK-8, depending on school)Teach music theory, vocal and instrumental performance, rhythm, and appreciationPrepare students for school concerts, performances, and liturgical celebrationsDirect music for school Masses, prayer services, and other religious eventsFoster a classroom environment that encourages creativity, participation, and respectIncorporate Catholic hymns, seasonal liturgical music, and traditional sacred worksAssess student progress and provide constructive feedbackCollaborate with teachers and administration to support school-wide events and curriculumMaintain music supplies, instruments, and equipmentAttend staff meetings, professional development, and school events as requiredJob RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Music Education or related fieldTeaching certification (if applicable or required by the diocese)Practicing Catholic who supports the mission and values of Catholic educationExperience teaching music to children in a school or church settingProficiency in vocal and/or instrumental instructionAbility to lead student choirs or ensemblesStrong organizational, communication, and classroom management skillsThe Archdiocese of St. Louis Catholic Education and Formation is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
