Role Overview: Camp Woodcraft has been a pioneer in inclusive outdoor education in Southern California since 1922. The program has recently earned multiple accolades, including national recognition from the American Camp Association and the Senior Director of Outdoor Education being named 2025 Outdoor Educator of the Year by the California Association of Environmental and Outdoor Education. Camp Woodcraft’s parent company, Woodcraft Rangers, is a trusted partner with school districts and community-based organizations throughout Southern CA. We are on a mission to serve 10,000+ young people annually through transformative outdoor education experiences at our retreat center near Big Bear, CA.Our primary focus is hosting school-based science field trips, but we also offer customized facility rentals for educational and mission-aligned partners.We are building a $4M+ annual sales pipeline and are seeking a results-driven Sales Manager to lead that growth.The ideal candidate brings experience in group sales within hospitality or youth-serving markets, and thrives in a mission-aligned, fast-paced environment.This role is critical to shaping how we reach, price, and serve school-based and rental clients--and will expand its team of Account Managers as volume increases.The current annual team sales goal is $3M, with clear activity and conversion benchmarks set for each sales contributor.Our new Sales Manager will lead with authentic connection and will be ultimately focused on the impact of young people their work makes possible. They will understand their team’s work must support the quality, care and responsibility of our programs so that we maintain our trusted reputation as we scale services to students, youth and families.Responsibilities: Sales & Pipeline Execution Manage inbound and outbound leads across B2B and institutional clients (schools, nonprofits, corporate groups) Implement lead generation strategies and conduct proactive solicitation and cold outreach to new leads Track individual and team sales activities to meet benchmarks and conversion from inquiry to booking Prepare proposals and contracts to move deals to close Support day-to-day implementation of pricing and campaign tools developed by leadership Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and reporting dashboards Regularly analyze sales data and recommend pipeline improvements across B2B and institutional clients (schools, nonprofits, corporate groups) Client Engagement & Business Development Conduct proactive solicitation and cold outreach to new leads across school, nonprofit, and mission-aligned markets Cultivate relationships with high-value partners (school districts, independent schools, PTAs, youth-serving orgs) Lead sales calls and presentations with prospective clients Attend conferences, networking events, and site visits as a brand ambassador Identify new segments and opportunities for expansion (e.g., wellness retreats, professional development groups) Cross-Functional Coordination Collaborate with Marketing and Program teams to ensure accurate and compelling messaging to prospects Share insights from sales interactions to support continuous improvement in guest experience and messaging Collaborate with core business sales team to maximize collective impact Participate in weekly team sales meetings and individual check-ins Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in group sales to schools or in a hotel, camp, or experiential program setting required Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales and revenue targets Demonstrated leadership experience managing sales teams or direct reports Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills Knowledge of sales systems, CRM tools, and booking platforms; HubSpot experience preferred and Campwise experience a plus Excellent written and verbal communication skills Passion for youth development, the outdoors, and purpose-driven work Willingness to travel regionally for frequent interaction with clients, community, and industry representatives Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, or related field preferred Skills: Sales Execution & Pipeline Ownership Strategic Prospecting & Outreach Client Relationship Management Data-Driven and Collaborative Decision Making Physical Demands: In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the following physical demands may be essential for the effective performance of this position.
