Pulmonary Function Technologist Job Details Pulmonary Function Technologist Job Summary The Pulmonary Function Technologist will perform full pulmonary testing studies, exercise testing, and bronchoscopy support on cardio and pulmonary patients, ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics. The technologist will work in the DTC Pulmonary Diagnostics Unit and utilize Vyntus/Jaeger PF testing equipment. Key Responsibilities Perform full pulmonary testing studies. Conduct exercise testing. Provide bronchoscopy support. Operate and maintain Vyntus/Jaeger PF testing equipment. Collect sputum specimens. Perform oral/nasal suctioning. Administer pulmonary hygiene. Perform Spirometry, Lung Volume- Plethysmograph, and Diffusion Testing. Perform Arterial punctures and interpret Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs). Perform Lung Volume- Nitrogen Washout, Stress Test Administration, HAST Studies, Cold Air Studies, Shunt Studies, Bronchial Provocation Testing. Administer Albuterol, Aerosol set up mask, Aerosol set up trach, Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI), Hand held, Bag and mask, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Oxygen tanks. Provide Tracheostomy care/management. Assist with Intubation. Perform oral airway placement. Assist with ECMO. Provide Pulmonary Rehab. Perform Basic EKG. Required Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience. Will consider first-time travelers with strong PFT and bronchoscopy experience. RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) certification. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from AHA. Active MD or Compact License at time of submission. Preferred Qualifications ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification from AHA. PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification from AHA. CPFT (Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist) certification. RPFT (Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist) certification.
