Job Description Responsibilities Mental Health Associate - (PT) - Adolescent Unit Job Description The Brook - KMI is a -bed hospital offering a full continuum of inpatient, extended care, residential, partial hospitalization and outpatient services for adolescents, adults and seniors. Our specialized treatment services are provided by a multidisciplinary team of highly trained psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, addiction counselors, nurses, pastoral counselors and activity therapists. The Brook Hospitals prides itself upon the fact that our patients are referred directly to us by local professionals and organizations: physicians, psychologists, social workers, employee assistance professionals, community mental health centers, hospitals, schools, courts, social service agencies and managed care organizations. These direct referrals and our high patient and family satisfaction rates are a reflection of our effectiveness in treating mental illness and addictions. This is a hour, Part-Time position with rotating weekends - 3p-p Mental Health Associate Serves as an active member of the clinical staff; maintains a therapeutic relationship with all patients; assists in maintenance of a safe, clean, therapeutic environment; assures patient participation in program activities; and performs technical/patient care duties relative to patient’s health and safety. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Knows location and condition of all patients at all times Ensure proper hand off of clinical information Performs safety checks daily and as needed per guidelines Manage group of patients in outside activities; i.e., A.T., outings, walks, meals, and study Assists in management of behavior and control of destructive behavior per facility guidelines Recognizes signs of impaired social interaction and motivates patients toward desired cooperation Teaches alternatives to destructive behavior Benefit Highlights Challenging and rewarding work environment Competitive Compensation Career development opportunities within UHS and its + Subsidiaries! About Universal Health Services Qualifications Qualifications Education - High School diploma or GED required. Some college preferred. Years of experience needed - No experience required. Direct patient care experience in a behavioral health setting is preferred. Certifications - Must maintain current CPR certification. Computer skills - Ability to: gain training through web-based programs; participate in employee surveys; enroll in company benefits. Communication - Must possess excellent verbal skills in communicating with patients, coworkers and visitors. Team work - Must be able to actively participate in a treatment team environment. Service Excellence - Consistently demonstrates all Service Excellence Standards.
