Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Full-Time Instructor (Mathematics) position in the Arts & Sciences department of the Academic & Student Affairs division. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College’s main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta. Under general supervision of the Dean of Arts and Sciences, the Full-Time Mathematics Instructor providesinstructiontostudentsinGeneralEducationMathematicscourses.This is positionrequiresutilizing techniques that facilitate adult learning styles and demonstrates varying techniques. This is a non-remote position. Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following: Demonstrates the use of appropriate teaching techniques. Demonstrates the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping required. Demonstrates the effective use oforalandwrittencommunicationskills. DemonstratesknowledgeofcurrentproceduresintheMathematicsfield Follows approved course syllabus. Completes all reports, records and invoices in a timely manner and maintains an accurate inventory ofallassignedproperties. Advisesandcounselsstudentsandmaintainsappropriateadvisementrecordsoneachstudent. Maintains classrooms and labs in accordance with institutional safety guidelines. Attending meetings as required and appropriate. Observes and enforces the institution's policies and regulations. Assists with student recruitment and job placement. Servesoncommittees, as needed. Maintainsqualificationsforemploymentinaccordancewithinstitutionalandaccreditationguidelines. Maintains qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual. Follows rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution; and Perform additional duties, as assigned. Competencies: Must possess and demonstrate a positive attitude, excellent oral and written communication skills, well-developed interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrate critical thinking, knowledge, judgment, awareness, understanding, memory, and the ability to process information in a clear and effective manner. Have positive attitude, excellent oral and written communication skills, and well- developed interpersonal and organizational skills. Experience with Microsoft Word and Public Speaking. Minimum Qualifications: Must possess and demonstrate the following: Master’s degree or higher in Mathematics from an accredited college or university; OR Master’s degree AND at least eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in Mathematics from a regionally accredited institution. Two (2) years of teaching experience in a secondary or postsecondary education program within the past three (3) years. Preferred Qualifications: Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess and demonstrate the following: Three (3) or more years of work experience in the field or related field within the past seven (7) years. Two (2) or more years of teaching experience in a secondary or postsecondary education program within the past three (3) years.
