ResponsibilitiesDesign and construct a prototype x-ray imaging system as a part of a Research & Development project.Candidate should be able to design in SolidWorks CAD software, procure or print prototype partsand construct prototype assemblies.Project is focused on integration of prototype x-ray systems for cargo and vehicle inspection.The candidate should be able to communicate design work, document progress, and present results.Uphold the company’s core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork.Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business. QualificationsMust be enrolled in an accredited Bachelor or Master of Science degree program in either Mechanical, Civil or Aerospace engineering.Must be able to commit to 10-weeks starting in May or June .Must reside within a daily commuting distance throughout internship.Solid foundation in mechanical design (including experience with SolidWorks) strongly preferred.Hands-on experience with mechanical design, prototyping and integration preferred.
