This role researches and executes on technical development to enable continuous innovation within the infrastructure and ensures that system hardware, software, operating systems, and related policies and procedures adhere to organizational specifications. Primarily, this role focuses on management of Active Directory, Microsoft Azure environment, AWS environment, SAN Storage, VM environment, Multi-user systems such as servers, disk storage, network systems, virtualization, cloud systems and security and directory services. Additionally, this role monitors security practices and implements improvements, performs regular network maintenance and administration, and also mentors team members on best practices.***WHAT YOU’LL DO***Network ManagementManage, maintain, and monitor the Active Directory environment, local & Virtual environments, SAN StorageManage and administer the Azure and AWS environmentManage and administer the internal server environment and the related VM WareResearch and recommend new technologies; introduce and integrate them into existing warehouse and data center environmentsEvaluate new Cloud technologies and implement accordinglyDevelop an technologies for the moving of data from Compute to Storage or Compute to ComputeEvaluate new Microsoft E3 technologies and implement accordinglyAnalyze and implement on-premise and off-premise infrastructure solutions to further enhance the ability of IT to serve as a broker of services to the user communityInstall and configure hardware, software, operating system updates, patches, configuration changes, as well as hardware/software/firmware/driver updatesPlan and design for disaster recovery (or business continuity) and data protection strategies and infrastructureConfigure and provision disk storageConfigure, add, and delete system filesParticipate in budget planning, providing input, justification, and support for the IT budget processMaintain up-to-date knowledge of existing and emerging cloud technologiesTravel as needed to support operations in various office locationsSecurity MonitoringEnsure anti-virus software is properly configured and up-to-date with the most recent virus definitionsTrack and monitor the logging alerts Help mitigate any Security related issues in the internal environmentEnsure the logging is monitored and managed on all serversEnsure that regular data back-ups and data replication operations are being performed to various media, such as disk and tapeProvision servers, storage, and network resources in cloud or hosted environmentsConfigure and maintain federated services to provide users with access to systems and services across organizational boundariesAdd, remove, or update user account information, resetting passwords, etc.Perform security monitoring to ensure processes are strong and safeNetwork Maintenance & AdministrationCreate system configuration documentation and/or system run booksTroubleshoot hardware and software problems; resolve accordinglyAnalyze system and application logs; identify and resolve potential issuesPerform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planningPerform ongoing system performance tuning & resource optimizationPerform routine audits of systems and softwareEnsure that the network infrastructure is available and providing configured bandwidth capacityTeam MentorshipMentor other team members, teaching and providing guidance as it relates to network administration activities***ABOUT OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE***EducationBachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science or a related technical disciplineExperienceMinimum 7 years of combined experience spanning the following areas:Managing one or more operating systems such as Microsoft Windows Server, various versions or Unix or Linux, and Cisco network iOSNetworking management for a mid-to-large organizationSecurity monitoring and implementation of best practicesLicenses & CertificationsMicrosoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) Certification (or equivalent) - Software/Technical SkillsAdvanced technical knowledge of the following areas:Windows Active DirectoryVirtual machine environmentsCisco routers and switches as well as routing protocols and their proper implementationLocal computer networksComputer hardwareWAN and routing protocolsSAN environmentsData center operational support equipmentOther Skills, Knowledge, & AbilitiesAnalytical & technical problem-solving skillsStrong communication skills (written, verbal, interpersonal) to assist others through complex technical processes both locally and remotelyAbility to manage projects within small teams***ADDITIONAL DETAILS FOR THIS ROLE***This role will be a hybrid role. Subject to business needs, employees may work remotely up to two days per week. Assigned office days will be determined by managers. #LI-HybridThe annual salary (or hiring) range for this position is $130,000 - $152,000 per yearStarting salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location, and alignment with market data.This position is eligible to participate in the relevant Brother variable pay incentive plan(s). This location houses key corporate functions, including HR, legal, finance, IT, and supply chain, and a significant presence of our business unit leadership and marketing teams. Our manufacturing and distribution facility in Bartlett, TN spans an impressive 1.5 million square feet - equivalent to 26 football fields - and is located on Brother Boulevard. In addition to the distribution center operations team, this facility hosts several other departments, including our customer service group.
