Payroll Analyst

Description A company in Downtown Houston is looking for a Payroll Analyst to join their team on a contract to hire basis. This role is 100% onsite. Responsibilities: u2022 Process bi-weekly payroll using PeopleSoft North American Payroll module with high attention to accuracy and compliance. u2022 Serve as the payroll subject matter expert for designated client accounts, ensuring timely resolution of issues. u2022 Conduct detailed audits to verify payroll data integrity and compliance with company policies and regulations. u2022 Collaborate with internal departments to resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure seamless communication. u2022 Collect, calculate, and input payroll data while maintaining accurate records. u2022 Export and review timesheets from the time and attendance system for payroll processing, addressing any discrepancies found. u2022 Ensure proper handling of additional pay components, including bonuses, garnishments, loans, and deductions. u2022 Manage payroll inbox inquiries and follow up with employees to provide excellent customer service. u2022 Assist in both internal and external audits related to payroll operations. u2022 Work collaboratively with team members to meet deadlines during critical payroll periods. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred, or equivalent certification in Payroll Practices. u2022 Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience, with 2-5 years preferred. u2022 Proficiency in PeopleSoft Payroll systems and familiarity with payroll tax requirements. u2022 Solid understanding of federal, state, and local payroll laws, particularly in a multi-state environment. u2022 Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities effectively. u2022 Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with employees and stakeholders. u2022 Ability to analyze data, identify issues, and recommend practical solutions. u2022 Adaptability to changing priorities and environments, ensuring efficiency in workflow.
