SRC is searching for a well-rounded Senior Network Engineer and Architect to design and plan Information Technology (IT) networks and architecture, security implementation, network performance monitoring, troubleshooting and support, and scalability and capacity planning for IT requirements for United States Space Command (USSPACECOM) command and control facilities. Manages several projects simultaneously from design to implementation and provide installation oversight at a new facility by engaging with functional area managers (FAMs) and other engineers. Work supporting USSPACECOM will be conducted at the government's facilities in Huntsville, AL.Developing detailed network design plans for the data center, ensuring they meet DoD requirements and standardsCreating network diagrams, schematics, and documentation for the data center infrastructureOverseeing the installation and configuration of network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking equipmentEnsuring all network components are correctly set up and optimized for performance and securityImplementing DoD- approved security protocols and measures within the data center networkConfiguring firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security appliances to protect the network from threatsMonitoring network performance to identify and resolve issues, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtimeUsing network monitoring tools to track bandwidth usage, latency, and other key performance indicatorsProviding technical support and troubleshooting for network-related issues within the data centerWorking with other IT teams to diagnose and resolve complex network problemsConducting capacity planning to ensure the network can handle current and future data center demandsDesigning scalable network solutions that can grow with the organization's needsEngineering and sustaining complex enterprise network architectures, focusing on core, distribution, and access layer transport and facility demarcation pointsLeading the installation, configuration, and optimization of enterprise routers, firewalls, and cryptographic devices (e.g., TACLANE) within secure facility environmentsProducing high-fidelity technical documentation, including logical and physical topology maps, interface descriptions, and 'as-built' documentation for MILCON and GSA-leased facilitiesCollaborating with Cybersecurity and RMF teams to provide technical evidence for security control implementation and support Authorization to Operate (ATO) effortsValidating equipment against DoD Approved Product Lists (APL/EPL) and support Bill of Materials (BOM) development for large-scale procurementSupporting transition planning from temporary facilities to permanent MILCON infrastructure, ensuring continuity of service for mission-critical transport#LI-LH110 plus years of experience administering and engineering Multi-Vendor Networks (e.g. Juniper/JUNOS devices and Cisco Devices)At least seven years of hands-on professional experience as Network Architect & Network Lead of similar in size and scopeFive years of experience as Network Architect & Network Lead supporting a DOD program of similar in size and scopeThree plus years of network design experience with load balancing and high availability systemsExperience required with planning, design and implementation of networked systems, to include configuration management, upgrades and troubleshooting of network issuesMaster's level degree in an Engineering, Computer Science, or IT related field OR bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or IT related field and additional five years of experience in Engineering, Computer Science or IT related fieActive Juniper Network Certified Professional (JNCIP) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certificationPossess IAT/IAM Level II or greaterStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to track, recommend, and implement resolutions to issuesAbility to build good relationships with peers, business partners, and clientsFundamental understanding of Nutanix-based hardware and network virtualizationExperience with web application architectures and their required ports and protocolsCloud technologies, AWS GovCloud, PostgreSQL DatabasesExperience with network analysis applications (e.g. Sniffer, Wireshark, Microsoft Network Monitor)Experience with network security hardware such as Cisco ASA, Barracuda NextGen Firewall, SonicWall TZ, Splunk, SolarWinds Log - Event Manager, Bro Network Security MonitorExperience with performing engineering services to support accreditation for software running on Cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Commercial Cloud Services (C2S)Must be able to work collaboratively within a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team.Experience installing, configuring and testing various network devicesFive plus years of experience using Microsoft Visio for network architecture designSRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT.
