We are a new firm- small but growing- and we care about what we do.The Director of Business Development is a senior leadership role responsible for identifying long-term strategic goals, building key customer relationships, and identifying business opportunities. The Director will lead the expansion into new markets, oversee the pursuit of high-value partnerships, and work closely with Marketing and Production teams to ensure our value proposition remains competitive.1. Strategic Networking & Relationship Management a. Developer Relations: Build and maintain a robust network developers, property owners, and government agencies. b. Growth Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive multi-year business development plan to achieve corporate revenue targets. c. Industry Presence: Represent the firm at AIA events, ULI (Urban Land Institute) conferences, and local meetings to stay ahead of upcoming projects.2. RFP/RFQ Leadership & Proposal Strategy a. Go/No-Go Analysis: Lead the evaluation of new opportunities to ensure they align with the firm’s design philosophy and profitability goals. b. Proposal Oversight: Collaborate with the Marketing and Principals to craft compelling narratives for project bids. c. RFP Interview Coaching: Lead the 'shortlist' interview preparation, ensuring the team communicates a cohesive and winning strategy to the selection committee.3. Market Growth & Intelligence a. Sector Expansion: Research and enter new geographic or typological markets. b. Pipeline Tracking: Maintain a rigorous CRM of long-lead projects that may not come to fruition for 18- 24 months. c.
