Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system at UChicago Medicine as a Assistant Director of Ambulatory Practice Operationsat our Crown Point location.The Assistant Director, Ambulatory Practice Operations will provide operational oversight of the day to day operations of multiple physician practices or specialties to ensure site(s) are managed in a consistent manner that embraces UCM patient centered service excellence and clinical quality standards. The Assistant Director works with the goal of boosting performance of the offices by implementing strategies and business plans to drive the organization's growth and quality initiatives. The position will successfully partner across multiple stakeholders and departments and align operational initiatives with the overall strategic goals of the University of Chicago Medical Center. In addition to providing operational oversight, this individual will be a key collaborator with relevant departments for coordination of care across the continuum, use of technological tools and solutions, metrics reporting, customer service, and process improvement.Essential Job Functions: Responsibility for day to day operations for multiple physician practices within one large site or multiple locations.Provides leadership and oversight of practice operations, managers and staff. Responsible for all administrative and operational responsibilities including, staffing, performance management, operational work flows, patient access and flow, and optimizing the work environment.Works collaboratively with other medical group leadership and departments that may include revenue cycle, IT, LEAN, credentialing, marketing, finance and HR to optimize performance.Responsible for performance improvement, quality measures and metric analyses in collaboration with administrative and clinical leadership of the practices.Leads operational process improvement efforts, space consolidation and utilization optimization, practice redesign and collaborates with executive and clinical leadership to develop and implement strategic initiatives.Maintain and improve patient satisfaction and physician and employee satisfaction.Assure performance improvement, risk management and patient safety functions are developed, evaluated, maintained and integrated throughout areas of responsibility.Ensure UCM organizational initiatives are carried out.Perform other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree in healthcare related field or MBA preferred.Minimum of 4 years management experience in physician practice and/or ambulatory clinic. Comfortable working in highly matrixed environment. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with physician leaders, preferably in a medical center environment. Proven ability to lead change, organize teams, and delegate responsibility appropriately. Excellent talent in the selection and mentoring of a high-quality, effective management team. Experience in effectively working with multiple stakeholders, navigating conflict, and establishing collaborative resolution.Proven ability to use data to drive performance improvement. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
