GovCIO is currently hiring for an experienced and highly skilled individual with an active Secret clearance to lead the design, development, and deployment of complex applications and microservices as part of a cross-domain solution to support classified development and provide on-site supervision (5 days a week) in Fairfax/Merrifield, Virginia.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with product owners, champions, and stakeholders to identify, document, and integrate requirements into features as part of a modern software development lifecycleUtilize Agile for the management and delivery of work across the software development teamProvide technical leadership and mentoring to junior and mid-level developersCollaborate with architects, product managers, and cross-functional teams to define technical solutions and ensure alignment with business goalsConduct thorough code reviews and enforce best practices in software engineeringOptimize application performance, scalability, and maintainabilityDesign and implement robust CI/CD pipelines to support automated build, test, and deployment processesWork closely with DevOps teamEnsure the security, reliability, and compliance of applications through thoughtful design and automationParticipate in system architecture discussions and influence key technical decisionsInvestigate and resolve complex technical issues in development, testing, and production environmentsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's + 12 years experience (or commensurate experience)7+ years of professional Java development experienceClearance required: Secret clearance with ability to obtain and hold DEA suitabilityExpertise with Java frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JPAStrong proficiency in modern JavaScriptDeep understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and Java best practicesExpertise with Java frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JPASolid understanding of RESTful web services and API designExperience with version control systems (Git using ADO or GitHub)Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum teamsEffectively communicate in English; both oral and writtenMulti-task along with attention to detailSelf-motivation, organization, time-management, and deductive problem-solving skillsWork independently and as part of a teamNetworking, web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), Microsoft WindowsFamiliarity with build tools like Maven or GradleStrong understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and ORM toolsExperience with unit testing, integration testing, and test-driven development (TDD) #JP #HCS #USCGPreferred: Experience in working with ColdFusionGovCIO is a team of transformers--people who are passionate about transforming government IT. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.USD $200,000.00 - USD $250,000.00 /Yr.
