This role focuses on improving data accuracy, organization, and consistency across HR and payroll systems through structured cleanup projects and documentation. The intern will gain hands-on experience working within a live HRIS environment while supporting foundational operational work critical to system stability and compliance.Assist with PrismHR/HRCloud data cleanup projects, including reviewing and validating employee, company, and configuration records for accuracy and completeness.Support user access audits by identifying outdated, duplicate, or inactive accounts and documenting findings for remediation.Perform data review and reconciliation tasks using Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, and basic formulas.Maintain detailed documentation of cleanup activities, findings, and recommendations.Support system administrator team with administrative tasks related to system maintenance and organization.Support testing and validation efforts related to cleanup or standardization efforts in HRCloud.Follow established procedures to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance standards are upheld.Complete other project-based or administrative tasks as assigned.Required Qualifications:Basic understanding of HRIS, enterprise systems, or database driven applications.Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including:Sorting, filtering and formatting large data setsBasic formulas (e.g., SUM, IF, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP preferred but not required)Strong attention to detail; comfortable working with repetitive or cleanup-focused tasks.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Ability to follow instructions, documented procedures and maintain clear, organized notes as well as asking questions when needed.Skills & Competencies:Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and consistencyAnalytical mindset and problem-solving abilityStrong written and communication skillsAbility to handle repetitive or cleanup-focused tasks with care and professionalismStrong ability to work independently while collaborating with senior team membersWillingness to learn and take feedbackProfessional handling of sensitive HR and payroll dataPhysical Demands:Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing desk-related tasks.Prolonged use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse, requiring repetitive motion.Ability to lift and carry office supplies or equipment up to 20 pounds.Occasional bending, reaching, and twisting to retrieve files or supplies.Ability to walk throughout the office, including moving between different departments or meeting rooms.Ability to communicate effectively in person and via phone or video conferencing.Ability to focus and maintain attention for long periods while working on various tasks.Must be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form.Occasional travel may be required.The work environment is typically quiet and climate-controlled, with standard office equipment available.This role may be performed in a hybrid or remote setting, depending on business needs and employee accommodation.Hands-on experience working within a production HRIS environmentExposure to systems administration best practices and operational workflowsPractical experience using Excel for real world system analysis and cleanupInsight into systems administration operations supporting HR and payroll teamsMentorship from experienced systems administratorsHourly rate of pay $16.00Responsibilities and requirements are subject to change based on business needs.For information on other ExtensisHR Internship opportunities including ones in HR, Risk, Sales Ops, and Finance please visit the ExtensisHR Career Page at https://extensishr.com/about/careers/Company does not discriminate in employment based on race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy and gender identity), national origin, political affiliation, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, genetic information, age, membership in an employee organization, retaliation, parental status, military service, or other non-merit factor.#IND2
