This junior to mid-level position is ideal for someone looking to enter or grow within the civil construction estimating field—especially within a specialized niche that supports public roadway agencies. As an Estimator, you’ll work alongside senior staff to develop pricing, review project documents, and assist with coordinating the bidding process for crack sealing, mastic, joint sealing, and other pavement preservation treatments. This role offers clear paths for advancement and hands-on exposure to real projects and public infrastructure work. Learn more at Key Responsibilities Estimating & Bid SupportReview bid documents, plans, specifications, and special provisions.Perform quantity takeoffs and create cost estimates for:Crack sealingMastic applicationsJoint sealingOther roadway maintenance treatmentsUse historical production data to inform pricing.Request and organize vendor and material quotes.Support final bid preparation and submission.Project Coordination SupportAssist senior estimators and project managers with:Quantity tracking and reportingDocumentation for job setupPay application and billing supportParticipate in pre-bid and pre-construction meetings as needed.Collaborate with internal operations staff for scope clarification and production input. Qualifications Required:1-3 years of experience (or internship) in construction, estimating, or engineering.Ability to read construction plans, specs, and bid documents.Proficiency with Excel and other basic estimating tools.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Eagerness to learn the roadway maintenance industry and public-sector contracting.Preferred:Experience with pavement preservation or DOT roadway maintenance.Familiarity with unit-price bidding or municipal/DOT project requirements.Understanding of civil sitework, construction quantities, and project documentation.
