Position Title: ControllerCompany Name: Coastland ConstructionPay Range: $100,000-$125,000+ per year, based on experienceEmployment Type: Full-TimeLocation: Miami, FLIndustry: General Construction (Residential, Commercial) Job Overview Coastland Construction is seeking a highly capable and detail-oriented Controller to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of multiple business entities, including construction, subcontracting, development, and affiliated companies. The Controller will lead monthly closings, manage job cost reporting and financial analysis, supervise accounting staff, and provide in-office financial partnership to the executive team. This key leadership role ensures accurate, timely financial reporting and offers strategic insights to guide the company’s fiscal success. Monthly Close, Reporting & Job Cost Ownership Analyze financial statements and Work-In-Progress reports (CCI, CCM, PT).Review monthly job cost reports across entities and meet with Project Managers to reconcile.Conduct job site visits monthly to verify job cost accuracy and photo documentation.Review owner pay applications (CCI & CCM) and assess cash flow across all companies.Analyze financials and budgets for multiple entities (VL, MT, HL, PBC, CR Dolphin).Perform quarterly balance sheet reviews and support year-end financial preparation. B. Banking & Cash Management Execute inter-account transfers and manage liquidity.Provide loan data to banks and oversee renewal of lines of credit. C. Accounting Team Oversight Supervise daily accounting operations and staff performance.Enforce financial procedures and manage deadline-driven deliverables.Support staff onboarding, training, and addressing operational issues. D. Compliance & Administrative Oversight Manage IRS correspondence, census reporting, and vehicle registration tracking.Submit and monitor routine insurance claims and audits.Assist in the implementation of new software and maintain workflows in TimberScan.Coordinate with Sage for system reporting or troubleshooting. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.7+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a construction or multi-entity environment.Strong proficiency in financial statement analysis, job cost reporting, and construction pay applications.Experience with Sage, TimberScan, and construction financial software preferred.Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.A background check will be completed as part of the onboarding process, in compliance with applicable laws.
