Job DescriptionPosition Summary:The Senior Manager of Workforce Management & Labor Planning is responsible for designing, governing, and continuously improving enterprise-wide labor forecasting, scheduling, and workforce optimization capabilities across a multi-location organization. This role owns the end-to-end labor planning lifecycle, ensures accurate demand forecasts, optimal staffing levels, and compliant schedules, and serves as the system authority for Workforce Management (WFM) platforms.The role partners closely with Operations, Finance, HR, Technology, and Store/Field Leadership to align labor investments with demand, productivity, and service outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine forecasting, scheduling, and labor optimization methodologies across all locationsEstablish forecasting and performance benchmarks (e.g., MAPE, bias, schedule accuracy)Analyze labor KPIs e.g., productivity, coverage, forecast accuracy, schedule adherence, labor costDrive adoption of best-in-class WFM practices across all storesDevelop and manage short and long-range labor forecasts using historical data, trends, seasonality, and business driversEnsure demand models align with operational metrics such as transactions, volume, service levels, and productivity standardsReconcile labor forecasts with budgets while protecting operational feasibilityLead continuous improvement of forecasting accuracy and variance reductionOversee labor scheduling strategies, customer, and employee experience Ensure schedules comply with all federal, state, and local labor regulations (predictive scheduling, fair workweek, meal/rest rules)WFM SystemServe as the system owner and subject-matter expert for Workforce Management platformLead system enhancements, upgrades, and integrations with ERP, POS, Traffic, HR, payroll, finance, and data systemsPartner with IT and vendors to resolve defects, improve performance, and scale capabilitiesDrive change management and adoption of the systemQualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in business or OperationsExperience10-12+ years of progressive experience in Workforce Management and labor planning,3+ years in a leadership or senior individual contributor roleTechnical Skills Expert level knowledge of WFM platforms (e.g., UKG, Reflexis, Blue Yonder, or similar)Forecasting algorithms and driversLabor standards and productivity modelsScheduling rules, constraints, and optimization logicAnalytical Skills Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysisExperience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) preferredAbility to translate complex data into clear business recommendationsPreferred QualificationsKnowledge of retail and service-based operating modelsExposure to AI-driven forecasting or optimization toolsFamiliarity with labor compliance lawsRelevant certificationsKey CompetenciesEnterprise thinking with strong operational focusData-driven decision makingAbility to prioritize business requirements over system constraintsLead, coach, and develop direct reportsAbility to create and maintain detailed documentationLocation & Work Availability: This position is 4 days in office, 1 day remote per week, based at our corporate headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina (North Hills)Benefits Summary:We believe in supporting our Team Members and those they love through comprehensive health & wellness benefits.
