Job Title: FPGA Design Engineer Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled FPGA Design Engineer with strong experience in VHDL, RF modulation techniques, and signal processing implementation. This engineer will translate Matlab designs into FPGA architectures, work closely with hardware teams, support board-level debug, and participate in design reviews and test planning. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on FPGA experience and enjoys working on complex, hardware-integrated RF systems. Responsibilities + Translate Matlab designs into FPGA architectures. + Collaborate closely with hardware teams for system integration. + Support board-level debugging and schematic reading. + Participate in design reviews and test planning. + Work on complex, hardware-integrated RF systems. Essential Skills + Strong FPGA design experience with hands-on experience in HDL, specifically VHDL. + Experience working with Xilinx FPGAs and the Vivado toolchain. + Proficiency in Matlab for algorithm development and simulation. + Ability to translate Matlab models into VHDL implementations. + Experience with communication protocols and RF modulation schemes such as PCM/FM, SOQPSK, and 5G. + Experience with A/D (ADC) and D/A (DAC) converters. + Test bench, simulation, or verification experience related to FPGA design. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Board level experience such as reading schematics and debugging boards. + Familiarity with signal processing concepts. + Understanding of digital communications. + Experience with tools/keywords such as D to A converters, A to D converters, signal processing algorithms, and communications systems. + Experience creating or contributing to engineering documentation like requirements inputs/reviews, test plans, and design review slide decks. + Experience using Jira or similar workflows for issue tracking. + Knowledge of embedded C/C++ (not required and not expected to be used). Work Environment The role is 100% on-site in Horsham, with one remote day per week permitted depending on tasks. Lab work, FPGA testing, and hardware interaction require on-site presence. Documentation and coding tasks can be performed remotely. Our Client recognizes industry trends but maintains on-site requirements for collaboration and hardware access. Candidates seeking fully remote work will not be a fit; collaboration and communication skills are essential. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Horsham, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $90.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
