Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description: Full-time Maintenance Tech I Accountability Objectives: Under the supervision of the Director and/or Supervisors of the Buildings & Grounds Department, the employee installs, inspects, repairs and maintains machinery, mechanical equipment, hospital furnishings and grounds. II Position Qualifications: Minimum Education, Licensure / Certification and Experience Required. A. Education + High school diploma or equivalent. + Vocational school certificate. B. Licensure / Certification + Valid State of Michigan driver's license. C Special Skill / Aptitudes + Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanics. + Excellent customer service orientation skills necessary in order to deal effectively with various levels of hospital personnel, outside customers and community groups. D. Experience + Technical, vocational or on-the-job training in at least three of the following: HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Painting or Engine Repair. + Three years related working experience in building maintenance. III Duties / Responsibilities: + Responsible for the repair and/or replacement of components of plumbing and piping systems, including the cleaning of blocked drainage systems. Responsible for irrigation system maintenance and repair. Will not be responsible for new installation work. Will be able to solder pipe to 3/4
