Job Description Job Summary The Electrical / Automation Engineer provides hands on engineering support to maintenance teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role focuses on training skilled electricians, troubleshooting complex electrical and automation issues, improving machine reliability, and helping evolve maintenance systems and best practices. The position is primarily night shift with alternating weekends and plays a key role in sustaining operational continuity and continuous improvement. If you need assistance and/or a reasonable accommodation due to a disability during the application or recruiting process, please send a request to learn more about how we collect, keep, and process your private information, please review Insight Global's Workforce Privacy Policy: Skills and Requirements Must Haves u2003u00b7 Provide electrical and automation engineering support to on shift maintenance and production teams u2003u00b7 Train and mentor maintenance electricians to improve technical capability and troubleshooting effectiveness u2003u00b7 Lead and support troubleshooting of electrical, controls, and automation systems u2003u00b7 Identify and implement opportunities to improve machine reliability and uptime u2003u00b7 Support the development and improvement of maintenance systems, standards, and practices u2003u00b7 Execute maintenance leadership direction during assigned shifts and support daily operational priorities u2003u00b7 Interface with internal engineering, controls, and support teams to drive solutions and align objectives u2003u00b7 Work effectively in a fast paced, shift based manufacturing environment, both independently and within cross functional teams u2003u00b7 Ability and willingness to work a night shift with alternating weekends u2003u00b7 Bacheloru2019s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical experience u2003u00b7 Preferred 2u20134 years of engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment Plusses u2003u00b7 Experience designing and supporting industrial control systems using standard CAD tools (SEE Electrical experience a plus) u2003u00b7 Strong proficiency with Rockwell PLC platforms, programming and standards including: u2003u2003u2003u2003u25a1 Ladder Logic u2003u2003u2003u2003u25a1 Structured Text u2003u2003u2003u2003u25a1 GRAFCET / Sequential programming u2003u00b7 Experience with Siemens PLCs u2003u00b7 Hands on experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and motion control systems, including Control Techniques, SEW MOVIMOT, or Rockwell platforms u2003u00b7 Experience configuring and supporting HMI systems, especially PanelView and FactoryTalk View ME u2003u00b7 Knowledge of industrial network architectures and communication protocols, including Data Highway+, ControlNet, and Ethernet/IP u2003u00b7 Exposure to machine vision and sensing systems (Cognex, Keyence, Adept, Bytewise, Gocator) u2003u00b7 Robotic system experience or working knowledge (Fanuc or ABB preferred)
