Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an entry level Technician to join our team in Courtland, AL Responsibilities include but are not limited to: u2022 Perform washing, chemical treatments, and surface prep/application/finishing to ensure optimal Thermal Protection System (TPS) adhesion and longevity. u2022 Prepare missile, parts, components, and surfaces, ensuring all areas are properly protected and free from contaminants. u2022 Utilize various hand tools and hand-held power tools such as grinders, sanders, paint guns, and measuring devices to achieve desired TPS finishes. u2022 Maintain and troubleshoot application equipment to ensure continuous operation and optimal performance in the aerospace industry. u2022 Ensure all surfaces are prepped to exact specifications, applying advanced techniques to achieve optimal paint adhesion and a high-quality finish. Physical Requirements: u2022 While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee will be required to equip PPE as required to perform job tasks. u2022 Use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk; and hear. u2022 Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, twist, and work on the missile. u2022 Frequently lift and/or push or pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or push or pull up to 50 pounds. u2022 Perform repetitive movements and work overhead. u2022 The employee is regularly exposed to vibration. Basic Qualifications: u2022 Ability to perform mechanical and electrical assembly. u2022 Ability to read and work from work instructions, schematics, engineering drawings, wiring lists, sketches, wiring connection lists, and/or other information and documentation. u2022 Ability to work day or night shift onsite in Courtland, Alabama u2022 Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance. Desired Skills: u2022 Knowledge and use of hand tools such as grinders, sanders, paint guns, and measuring devices u2022 Knowledge of aircraft or autobody or similar surface preparation and coatings/painting and/or anti-corrosion chemical application and treatment u2022 Knowledge of safety and contamination protection best practices. u2022 Knowledge of robotic operations u2022 Graduate of AIDT (Alabama Industrial Development Training) Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
