Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join a dynamic non-profit organization based in Muscatine, Iowa. In this key leadership role, you will oversee financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations while supporting the organizationu2019s strategic goals. Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. u2022 Ensure the accounting system aligns with organizational policies and regulatory standards. u2022 Manage general ledger entries, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial close procedures. u2022 Develop budgets and monitor fiscal performance across various departments, collaborating on department-specific financial planning. u2022 Supervise billing operations, monitor receivables, and oversee collections to maintain optimal cash flow. u2022 Facilitate the timely drawdown of state and federal funds while ensuring compliance with funding requirements. u2022 Produce detailed financial reports to aid in strategic planning and decision-making processes. u2022 Serve as the primary contact for external auditors, preparing and providing necessary audit documentation. u2022 Support human resources functions, including payroll reviews, employee benefits management, and compliance with policies. u2022 Conduct fiscal analysis related to compensation, benefits, and other employee costs to ensure informed decision-making. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting or a related field. u2022 Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with at least some time spent in the non-profit sector. u2022 Strong proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statements and reports. u2022 Proven ability to manage budgeting and forecasting processes effectively. u2022 Familiarity with grant accounting and compliance with funding agency requirements. u2022 Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in overseeing payroll and tax filings. u2022 Experience in maintaining confidentiality and adhering to corporate compliance standards. u2022 Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external auditors effectively.
