Job Summary Perform daily management tasks associated with food and ingredient warehousing and logistic operations for Fresh & Ready Foods. Manage the safe receipt, storage, retrieval, and On-Time dispatch and delivery of food products. Work collaboratively with Quality Assurance, Production, and Purchasing Department team members to guarantee customer satisfaction and to meet daily, weekly and monthly productions goals. Responsibilities u2022 u201cHands-Onu201d commitment to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Warehouse Department. u2022 Plan, manage, and maintain layout of stockrooms, warehouse, and storage areas (freezers, refrigerators/coolers); u2022 Design and implement workflow and procedures; adjust as needed for continuous improvement and productivity. u2022 Advises staff on care and preservation of food and ingredient items received including all perishables, stored and shipped according to safety and sanitation specifications. u2022 Train and coach staff in the correct use of industrial equipment; including industrial counterbalance forklifts, manual and electric pallet jacks, and pallet wrap machines. u2022 Assign duties and examines work for exactness, accuracy, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures, issues oral and written directions as appropriate. u2022 Access and standardize procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs. u2022 Review records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of stock levels. u2022 Investigate history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommend remedial actions to resolve discrepancies. u2022 Maintain relationships with vendors and contractors to ensure good, reliable sources of supply and information. u2022 Manager warehouse administrative tasks and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures. u2022 Ensure thorough and complete tracking and recording of inventory records to provide accurate accounting of all purchased food products and ingredients using FIFO/FEFO methods, cycle counts, and spoilage reduction practices. u2022 Plan, schedule, and enforce employee work schedules based upon forecasted volumes; and u2022 Hire, train, and guide purchasing personnel on proper food purchasing, receiving, and storage procedures established by Fresh & Ready Foods. u2022 Provide regular and periodic employee work performance evaluations. u2022 Identify opportunities and find solutions for continuous improvement. u2022 Comply and enter information into electronic systems and prepare reports when necessary. u2022 Address and respond promptly to needs and inquiries of management. u2022 Identify and respond to problems with appropriate action and timely follow-up. u2022 Assist in the review of departmental process to seek improvements. u2022 Support department and company-based goals which contribute to the success of Fresh & Ready Foods. u2022 Always maintain the strictest confidentiality on matters pertaining to the company and its customers, vendors, distributors, and staff. u2022 Promote by example the principles of Fresh & Ready Foods. u2022 Ensure that office and work areas are always kept clean, safeguarding confidential information and documents. u2022 Consistently demonstrate professional verbal and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. u2022 Problem-solve, organize and balance multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment. u2022 Maintain composure when handling unexpected challenges and competing demands. u2022 Perform additional functions that may be assigned at the discretion of management and executive team.
