Physical Therapist - Pediatric

As a Physical Therapist, you will utilize a variety of therapeutic exercises and interventions to help patients improve strength, range of motion, endurance, and coordination. This position involves close, one-on-one interaction, allowing you to build strong, trusting relationships with both patients and their families.We treat children with a wide range of movement impairments, serving patients from birth through young adulthood. The Physical Therapist collaborates with other healthcare professionals and works closely with families, who may be present in the therapy room to support their child during sessions.The caregiver works between 8:00am and 6:30pmdepending on the schedule (typically 8-10 hours perday)Approximately 20% of the time, the caregiver will work during after-schoolhours from 3:30pm to 6:30pmWill float between Medina and Middleburg heights weekend requirements.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Perform initial andon-goingassessments of patient condition.Establish,reviseand evaluate a plan of careappropriate toproblemsidentifiedand involve the patient/family according to their capabilities and desires.Perform therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.Supervise activities of Physical TherapyAssistants,studentsand other support personnel.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Bachelor's Degree or certificateGraduate of a Physical Therapy Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy AssociationCurrent state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red CrossPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Experience in a clinical areaPediatric experiencePhysical Requirements: Ability to walk and climb stairs without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load in order to support patient from falling.Ability to meet physical demands characterized at the heavy level defined by 1993 Leonard Matheson and Ministry of Labor.Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient's arm and leg during therapeutic treatment program.Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient pulse.Visual acuity to observe patient's gross and fine motor movements in order to analyze these movements and to read all patient monitors.Ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families.Ability to hear at a conversational level to understand patient's description of symptoms and response to treatment.Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Pay RangeMinimum Annual Salary: $69,600.00Maximum Annual Salary: $106,132.50The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
