M365 Platform Engineer

Description M365 Platform Engineer Austin, TX Hybrid Contract-to-Hire We are partnering with an Austin-based client to hire a Microsoft 365 Platform Engineer. You'll be responsible for oversight of an enterprise M365 environment with expert-level skills in Exchange (on-prem and cloud). This is a hands-on, mid-to-senior level role for someone who thrives in evolving environments, challenges the status quo, and can turn strategy into execution. Responsibilities: + Own and support the Exchange environment, including distribution lists and mail flow management, hybrid Exchange administration, and optimize multiple spam filtering solutions. + Troubleshoot complex email delivery, security, and performance issues. + Ensure stability, reliability, and security of messaging services. + Partner with infrastructure, security, and end-user support teams to resolve issues efficiently. + Assist with developing roadmaps, governance, processes, and policies aligning to business and IT strategy. + Lead and contribute to the re-architecture of the Exchange/mail platform. + Identify opportunities to simplify, modernize, and improve the M365 environment. + Document architectural decisions and communicate impact to technical and non-technical audiences. Requirements Requirements: + Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. + 5+ years of experience in enterprise-level Microsoft Exchange environments (hybrid environments required). + Experience migrating on-prem Microsoft Exchange mailboxes from a single organization to multiple Exchange Online tenants. + Solid working knowledge of: Microsoft Entra (Azure AD), Intune, and Purview. + Experience utilizing JIRA and Confluence for project management and documentation. + Ability to explain technical projects to non-technical stakeholders. + Experience designing, engineering, implementing, and managing multiple Azure tenants.
