Within Amazon Robotics, the Global Operations - Artificial Intelligence (GO-AI) team enables Amazon to accelerate and scale the next generation of AI-powered robotic solutions. We're transforming how complex visual reasoning tasks are performed across Amazon's robotics operations, moving from traditional manual data annotation processes to state-of-the-art foundation model solutions. As a Machine Learning Engineer on GO-AI's Technology & Development Team, you'll be at the center of this transformation. You'll work with massive-scale, proprietary datasets to develop vision-language models that achieve human-level performance on complex real-world tasks. Your work will directly impact millions of daily operations across Amazon's global fulfillment network. This is a rare opportunity to build AI systems that operate at Amazon scale while solving novel technical challenges in computer vision, natural language processing, and human-AI collaboration. You'll collaborate with world-class scientists, engineers, and operations teams to deploy state-of-the-art research into production systems that deliver real-world impact at global scale. Key job responsibilities - Build and optimize distributed training infrastructure for large-scale vision-language models at unprecedented scale - Design and implement high-throughput production inference systems that serve foundation models at Amazon scale with strict latency and reliability requirements - Develop large-scale data and media processing pipelines to handle massive volumes of video, image, and annotation data for model training and evaluation - Create automated retraining pipelines and performance monitoring systems to maintain model accuracy in dynamic production environments - Work closely with scientists and engineers to deliver scalable, high-performance systems that power state-of-the-art AI applications A day in the life Amazon offers a full range of benefits that assist you and eligible family members, including domestic partners. If youu2019re passionate about this role and want to make an impact on a global scale, please apply Basic Qualifications- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience - 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team - Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language - Knowledge of ML frameworks including JAX, PyTorch, vLLM, SGLang, Dynamo, TorchXLA, and TensorRT - Experience building large-scale machine learning and AI solutions at Internet scalePreferred Qualifications- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent, or Master's degree - Experience in processing data with a massively parallel technology (such as Redshift, Teradata, Netezza, Spark or Hadoop based big data solution) - Experience with video and image processing and compression algorithms and standards, computer vision and/or machine learning - Experience with training and deploying machine learning systems to solve large-scale optimizations - Experience working cross functionally with tech teams - Knowledge of automation control system logic, mechanism and protocol - Mathematics and Statistics: strong understanding of linear algebra, calculus, probability, and statistics Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
