Software Engineer ChatNow Program

The Software Engineer for the ChatNow program will play a critical role in advancing the capabilities and user experience of our enterprise chatbot platform. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable full stack solutions that power ChatNow, with a strong emphasis on both front-end user interfaces and back-end services. This role will focus on hands-on development, integration, and enablement of reusable agentic components that power support chatbots across multiple domain areas. What You'll Be Doing : + Serve as the principal engineer across ChatNow workstreams, setting direction for key builds and guiding engineers to deliver highu2011quality, scalable solutions. + Provide strategic leadership for the evolution of the ChatNow platform, guiding the design and delivery of complex features and crossu2011platform enhancements to ensure enterpriseu2011grade performance, resilience, scalability, and security. + Shape the longu2011term architectural vision and fullu2011stack technical strategy for the ChatNow ecosystem, influencing platform roadmaps, design patterns, and technology standards across teams and partner systems. + Drive engineering excellence across agile delivery cycles , establishing bestu2011practice frameworks for code quality, sprint execution, technical reviews, and process optimization while mentoring teams toward continuous improvement. + Architect and enhance CI/CD automation pipelines for ChatNow, advancing release governance, environment controls, and GitHub Actionsu2013based workflows to improve deployment speed, reliability, and compliance across DEV, QA, and PROD. + Champion adherence to enterprise security, compliance, and responsible AI frameworks , ensuring ChatNowu2019s development and deployment practices align with regulatory, privacy, and AI Registry standards. + Partner with AI architects, engineering leads, and crossu2011functional stakeholders to strengthen platform resiliency, expand automation and agentic capabilities, and ensure the delivery of highu2011quality, scalable solutions across domains. What You Should Bring : + Advanced Degree in Computer Science or related field + Proven experience in full stack development using modern frameworks (e.g., Python, + JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js, React) + Solid understanding of software engineering best practices including agile methodologies, CI/CD, and automated testing + Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other engineers + Passion for creating intuitive user experiences and solving complex technical challenges + Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset toward innovation and continuous improvement + AI or Machine Learning Certification + Experience with Agentic & AI Tooling (e.g.LangChain, LangGraph, Open AI SDKs,Cortex, MLflow, LangFuse, Vector DBs, etc.) + Familiarity with multi-agent architectures and LangGraph workflows + Understanding of LLM fine-tuning, prompt optimization, or embedding-based retrieval + Prior experience working with cross-functional global development teams Basic Requirements : + B.S. in Computer Science or related field + 5+ years experience in Agile methodologies and approaches + 5+ years experience in full stack development + Experience in machine learning and natural language processing (NLP) technologies + Experience in cloud computing platforms such as Microsoft Azure + Experience with Agentic & AI Tooling (e.g. LangChain, LangGraph, Open AI SDKs, Cortex, MLflow, LangFuse, Vector DBs, etc.) + Experience contributing to RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines Additional Information : + Position located in Indianapolis, Indiana working in a hybrid model + Role will require partnering with IST-based development teams to ensure development continuity and handoff transitions + Travel may be required periodically Organization Overview : Tech at Lilly builds and maintains capabilities using pioneering technologies like most prominent tech companies. The anticipated wage for this position is $141,000 - $224,400 Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
