CTG is seeking to fill an Application Architect u2013 Automation & Microservices (Telecom Domain) position for our client. Location: Dallas, TX Duration: 12 months Duties: + Serve as the Application Architect for automation and microservices initiatives within the telecommunications domain, providing end-to-end solution architecture and technical leadership. + Gather and analyze high-level business, functional, and non-functional requirements; translate them into system-level requirements and detailed architectural designs for development teams. + Design and implement scalable, resilient, and secure microservices-based architectures using Spring Boot and related frameworks. + Architect and integrate automation solutions to streamline business processes across sales, contract automation, ordering, billing, and service delivery platforms. + Evaluate, select, and optimize technologies, frameworks, and tools to meet performance, scalability, security, and compliance requirements. + Oversee deployment of applications into production environments (Kubernetes, application servers), ensuring reliability, monitoring, and operational excellence. + Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, customer teams, and cross-functional IT teams to ensure solutions align with business objectives. + Provide guidance and best practices related to automation platforms, workflows, APIs, and AI/GenAI enablement. Skills: + Strong telecommunications domain knowledge, including Universal Platform capabilities across Sales, Contract Automation, Ordering, and Billing. + Expertise in application automation architecture, including workflows, APIs, and integration patterns. + Expert-level understanding of automation tools and technologies such as UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere, AI/GenAI, and workflow orchestration. + Experience with APIs for Watsonx and/or other hyperscalers. + Familiarity with IDCP (IBM Delivery Central Platform) and IBM Consulting Advantage platforms (MethodX, assets, assistants). + Solid understanding of security, compliance, performance optimization, and scalability considerations in enterprise applications. Experience: + 3+ years of experience as a Java Developer using Core Java, Spring Boot, Web Services (SOAP and REST), XML, Eclipse, and Hibernate. + 3+ years of hands-on experience developing microservices using Spring Boot, Maven, Spring Data JPA, MySQL, Camunda workflow services, and REST API development. + Experience deploying and supporting applications in production environments such as Kubernetes (K8s), Tomcat, and WildFly, including monitoring and troubleshooting. + Database experience with MS SQL Server and MySQL. + _Nice to have:_ + Experience with GitHub version control and GitHub Actions for CI/CD and code deployment. + Experience working directly with customer teams to gather requirements for enhancements and major upgrades. + Experience using Generative AI to accelerate development, testing, and automation of repetitive tasks. Education: + Bacheloru2019s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
