Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in managing financial processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organizationu2019s financial goals. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment and brings a detail-oriented approach to complex financial tasks. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee fixed asset management and ensure accurate financial reporting. u2022 Prepare and analyze financial statements, including footnotes and detailed reports. u2022 Manage month-end and year-end accounting processes to ensure timely and accurate closings. u2022 Perform general ledger maintenance and ensure proper reconciliation of accounts. u2022 Handle journal entries and ensure compliance with GAAP accounting standards. u2022 Conduct bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies. u2022 Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support capital budgeting and financial planning. u2022 Utilize Workday Financial Management and Ariba procurement systems to streamline processes. u2022 Identify opportunities for process improvements within accounting operations. u2022 Ensure compliance with US GAAP standards and organizational policies. Requirements u2022 7+ years of accounting experience, including financial statement preparation and reporting. u2022 Proficiency in general ledger management, journal entries, and account reconciliation. u2022 Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting and US GAAP standards. u2022 Experience with month-end and year-end close processes. u2022 Familiarity with financial systems such as Workday Financial Management and Ariba. u2022 Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. u2022 Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail. u2022 Effective communication skills for collaboration across all levels of the organization.
