This roleincludes providing user training and technical support for NFCinstrumentation, which may include lithography, dry etch, deposition,wet chemistry, packaging or thermal processing, depending on theexperience and interest of the successful candidate. In addition, therole will include ensuring optimal instrument performance throughroutine maintenance and calibration, instrument repair, and thedevelopment of best practices and training materials.Key JobResponsibilities: Designs, plans, and performs preventative and reactivemaintenance on equipment to ensure optimal and safe operation Answersquestions and provides technical information regarding instrumentationto staff, researchers, clients, and students Facilitates the billingprocess Investigates new research processes and technology solutions incollaboration with research/clinical staff, students, and clientsSupports troubleshooting efforts to define and resolve problemsDevelops, integrates, tests, modifies, and may design sophisticatedscientific equipment to support research/clinical initiatives and unitdirectives Make the center a safe environment for everyone. Monitorresearchers for safe practices and enforce safety policies. Monitor thefacility for unsafe conditions and rectify them Provides technicalexpertise to staff, researchers, clients, and students in theinstallation and use of equipment and instruments, exercising discretionand independent judgment to meet unit goals Maintain and support theoperations of the CenterDepartment: College of Engineering, WisconsinCenters for Nanoscale Technology, Nanoscale FabricationCenterCompensation: The starting salary is $80,000 annually, and isnegotiable based on experience and qualifications.
