FTE: 1.000000 Standard Hours: 40.00 Shift: Shift 1 Shift Details:Holidays: Weekends: Job Summary: The Pharmacy Manager is responsible forsupervising, coordinating, and monitoring clinical pharmacy practice andservices at FMLH. He/she will oversee the daily activities of thedepartment including, but not limited to pharmacokinetics, therapeuticdrug monitoring, patient- controlled analgesia, antibiotic usage, drugpolicy initiatives, and decentral drug distribution. The PharmacyManager will work together with other Hospital clinicians to define anddevelop clinical practice as it relates to pharmacy and the improvementof patient care. Collaboration with other department managers to developand implement new clinical pharmacy services will ensure the integrationof pharmaceutical care throughout the Hospital. Other duties asassigned. EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: Minimum of 3 years Hospital pharmacyexperience or completion of an ASHP accredited pharmacy practiceresidency and/or advanced degree is required. Displays a thoroughunderstanding of pharmacology and therapeutics, acquired through acombination of school and experience, in order to recommend appropriateand patient specific therapeutic regimens and subsequently monitoroutcomes is required. Experience in development of new clinical systems,innovative use of pharmacy extenders and improvement initiatives in theareas of clinical pharmacy practice is required. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:BS or Pharm. D. degree received from an ACPE accredited school ofpharmacy is required. Minimum of 3 years Hospital pharmacy experience orcompletion of an ASHP accredited pharmacy practice residency and/oradvanced degree is required. SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Ability tosuccessfully work in an interdisciplinary (or team) environment. Abilityto communicate clearly, both in written and verbal mode. Ability to leadchange in a non-threatening manner. Communicates effectively with staffand other health care professionals in a verbal and written mode.Demonstrates ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.Demonstrate effective teaching ability. Displays effective knowledge andability of new drug evaluations, drug use evaluations and programjustifications. Displays strong leadership skills. Business hoursincluding some early and late hours. Demonstrates ability andwillingness to participate in all aspects of human resource managementincluding recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, appraising,disciplining, and terminating. Demonstrates competency of wordprocessing skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, as wellas a comfort in researching and navigation of the Internet. LICENSUREDESCRIPTION: Wisconsin pharmacist license (or eligible for) is required.Board certification is preferred.
