As an Advanced Specialist, Content Developer (English Language Arts) within the Asset Creation team, you will work as both a content and assessment expert to develop K-12 assessments for our state and district clients. Our team develops standards-based assessments for students across the United States. We collaborate with education departments, committees of educators, and business partners to develop assessments of learning that are accessible to all students. We are looking for flexible and creative content experts to be leaders on our team. Responsibilities: u25cf Develop and review content-specific test items and stimuli, including multiple choice, technology enhanced, extended response, cluster sets, performance-based tasks, and simulations across multiple grade levels for large-scale assessments u25cf Generate and implement asset specifications, item development plans, test blueprints, test designs, and other ancillary documents u25cf Develop items and assessments based on accessibility considerations u25cf Leverage AI-powered tools to support the development, review, and enhancement of assessment content, ensuring outputs meet quality and accessibility standards u25cf Collaborate with and train team members to integrate AI-generated assets in assessment workflows, providing feedback using content and educational expertise u25cf Select, assign, manage, and train item/passage writers and educators to develop items based on standards, cognitive complexity, and item development best practices u25cf Facilitate customer meetings related to item and passage review, data review, test construction, review of composed test forms, achievement-level descriptors, standard setting, and technical advisory committees u25cf Collaborate with internal teams and customers as an assessment expert u25cf Contribute to proposal solutions through drafting test designs and authoring text u25cf Lead teams of Assessment Specialists in the design and implementation of high-stakes assessment programs u25cf Work closely with test development managers, other content developers, psychometricians, and other Pearson groups u25cf Stay current with emerging technologies relevant to educational content creation and assessment, including AI u25cf Perform other duties as assigned u25cf Some travel required Qualifications: u25cf Bachelor's degree in education, content-specific area or equivalent degree required u25cf At least five yearsu2019 experience as an elementary or secondary teacher in the field of content-specific area preferred u25cf At least three yearsu2019 experience in large-scale educational measurement preferred u25cf Professional knowledge of content-specific area and educational trends required u25cf Experience leading assessment programs preferred u25cf General knowledge of all phases of the development, processing, scoring, and reporting of large- scale assessments required u25cf Demonstrated excellence in AI-supported content development, or clear evidence of strong potential and readiness to leverage AI effectively in content creation u25cf Experience or familiarity with prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated content for education and assessment purposes u25cf Broad knowledge of common software programs, strong technology skills, and the confidence necessary to work with unfamiliar programs u25cf Demonstrated interest in learning about and adapting to new AI technologies as they evolve u25cf Outstanding oral and written communication skills u25cf Skilled at creatively and flexibly addressing challenges with a variety of audiences u25cf Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills and ability to coordinate multiple activities and adapt to unexpected events u25cf Skill in evaluating and providing input on project schedules and process documents Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York State, New York City, Vermont, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows: The minimum full-time salary range is between $70,000 - $80,0000.
