Wellness Coordinator (Park/Rec Specialist II)

The Role: A Hybrid Specialist This position requires a unique balance of public-facing influence and focused administrative precision. You will act as a central hub for wellness, shifting between a heads-down cubicle environment for strategic planning and a high-visibility leadership role in the field. Master of Logistics: You are highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing the Healthy Strides Community Class calendar and scheduling various instructors with accuracy. Evidence-Based and Inclusive: You rely on verified health science rather than trends, ensuring all programs are grounded in data and designed for residents of all backgrounds and abilities. Disciplined Professional: You are comfortable working independently for part of the day, using your desk time to conduct research, compile reports, and manage complex schedules under limited supervision. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership: Lead and coordinate with Fitness Directors and stakeholders to execute health fairs and medical screenings, relying on strong interpersonal diplomacy to achieve goals. Logistical Coordination: Manage the Healthy Strides calendar, including the scheduling and professional alignment of FCPA group fitness instructors. Community Advocacy: Build and maintain strategic relationships with hospitals and the health department to promote public health. Technical Management: Serve as an interim Fitness Director as needed and provide expert facility management across various Rec Centers. Data and Analysis: Perform independent research and utilize office software to create professional presentations and performance reports. Work Environment and Schedule Hybrid Workflow: This position requires the ability to work independently in an office/cubicle setting for research and administration, as well as maintaining a high-energy presence in the community. Schedule Flexibility: While typically a standard schedule, hours will vary when serving as the interim Fitness Director or during major special events.
