Intramural Program CoordinatorCampus Recreation - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (26000626)u00a0The Intramural Program Coordinator plays a key role in leading, developing, and managing a vibrant slate of intramural sports and campus-wide recreational events that promote engagement, well-being, and community within the Pitt student body. This position oversees all facets of program planning, operations, marketing, and assessment to deliver inclusive and diverse opportunities that reflect the interests and needs of the Pitt community.Primary responsibilities include the coordination and leadership of intramural sports leagues, tournaments, and special events, as well as signature campus-wide recreation programs that build school spirit and foster connection through play and competition. The coordinator ensures smooth operations by managing staff scheduling, risk management, program assessment, and facility reservations; and by aligning all efforts with the department's values of equity, diversity, inclusion, and addition to intramurals and campus events, the coordinator provides support for Club Sports and the Esports facility and programs.The coordinator works a flexible on-campus schedule, including evenings and weekends, to support high-quality programs and an exceptional experience for student participants and employees.u00a0Job SummaryCreates and implements high-risk intramural, club, fitness, and recreation programs. Creates and implements facilities operations plans including staffing, facilities scheduling, and facility, FFE, and fitness equipment maintenance. Develops program or facility operational mapping to align with strategic plans. Develops policies and procedures guiding operations and continuous improvement efforts. Develops and implements risk management protocols and training to ensure safety. Manages marketing, social media outreach, and updates web site.Essential Functionsu2022 Autonomously creates, develops, organizes, and administers high-risk (e.g., aquatics and rock climbing) intramural, club, fitness, and recreation programs and facilities within campus recreation. Creates and implements facilities operations plans including staffing, facilities scheduling, and facility, FFE, and fitness equipment maintenance.u2022 Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises large student staff to lead program activities and facility operations.u2022 Develops success metrics, and mechanisms for evaluating and reporting success. Makes improvements based on data findings.u2022 Assesses risk related to program and facility operations, staffing, and maintenance. Creates and implements risk management procedures and guidelines training staff to ensure compliance. For example, ensures the safety of participants through the maintenance and quality of equipment, proper staff coverage, and safe playing conditions at all activities and facilities. Develops andmonitors risk management procedures, protocols, and training to minimize University exposure to legal liability.u2022 Creates programs and facility operations to achieve University, Wellness Team, and department mission in serving the university community as a whole and supporting student well-being and development. Reviews and analyzes new and current programming and facility operations; based on assessment, updates programs and facility operations to ensure customer satisfaction, continual improvement, and alignment with current and future trends.u2022 Develops and monitors the budget for associated high-risk programs and/or corresponding facilities operations. Fully responsible for budget area and stewardship in managing university funds to best meet current and changing needs. Involves routinely moving throughout spaces (100 plus yards multiple times per shift), climbing ladders, and moving to and from facilities. Work includes lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling/moving items (e.g., supplies, equipment, deliveries, etc.) up to 50 pounds.
