Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. He/she will be responsible for: Attending responsibilities for the in Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) team. Critical Care consultation in Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU). Coordination of patient care among the primary physician, critical care staff and other specialists. Performing Critical Care procedures in accordance with Institutional policies. Teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, mid-level providers, and fellows. Interdisciplinary Treatment Teams, Care Lines/Services and/or committees. Ensuring initial and ongoing assessments of patients to identify needs, issues, resources and care goals are provided, in a timely manner. Monitoring specific clinical activities for compliance with VA policies, assuring that findings are utilized to modify and/or improve their performance and to facilitate the accomplishments of their goals and objectives. Promoting quality in clinical practice by collaborating with Providers, Clinical Programs, Analyzing and evaluating the clinical contents of medical records and associated documents, in terms of the quality and appropriateness of clinical care issues, such as adherence to, or deviation from accepted referral/consultation guidelines, standards and/or procedures. Other duties as assigned.
