Unlock your potential!Job Summary and QualificationsThe Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is an active member of the team in the Operating Room. The CST functions under the direct supervision of the OR nurse. He/sheis responsible forthe sterile field, instrumentation, sterile technique, and other tasksrequiredduring the procedure. The Surgical Technologist supports hospital mission,valuesand visions.What you will do in this role: Provides a safe environment forpatient,visitorand employees through identifying/correcting/reporting health and safety hazards.Assembles supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.Preparessterileinstrument table.Prepares patient skin for surgeryin accordance withhospital standards.Maintains aseptic techniques and activelymonitorssituations which could lead to breaches in aseptictechnique.Provides comfort and support for pre-operative patients.Transports patients to and from surgical suite.Positionspatientaccording to type of surgery.Assiststhe surgical team in surgical procedures which may include passing instruments,spongesand sutures.Maintains work area.Gathers equipment for cleaning and sterilization.Assistsinthe monitoring of the patient through the procedure.Orients and mentorsnew staffmembers.What qualifications you will need:High School diploma/GEDBasic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start dateVocational School GraduateCurrent certification as (CT) Certified Technician or (CST) Certified Surgical TechnologistTriStar Greenview Regional Hospital is a 200+ bed facility serving Southern Kentucky and surrounding areas.
