Together, we keep getting better - advancing our mission to transform healthcare and serve as a leader of positive change.The Manager, Annual Giving is responsible for managing a portfolio of leadership annual giving donors (up to $50,000 commitments), qualifying and upgrading annual giving donors to the leadership level, cultivating and growing the entire portfolio of Leadership Annual Giving donors, and partnering with the Director of Leadership Annual Giving in cultivation and stewardship of leadership annual giving donors. The Manager also collaborates with the Annual Giving department with other fundraising initiatives and annual campaigns as it relates to leadership annual giving donors. The Manager acts as a giving officer for our leadership annual giving donors (over $1,000 but under the major gift threshold of $50,000) and helps to grow the pipeline and cultivate major gift prospects. The ideal candidate will have experience building high-touch, long-term relationships with individuals, frontline fundraising, and other funders as well as demonstrated success soliciting and securing support.A day in the life of a Manager, Annual Giving at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:Serves as a valued member of the Annual Giving Team and contributes to the fundraising goals of HMH. Manages development, coordination and implementation of direct mail fundraising efforts for the Annual Giving team.Works cooperatively with service-line fundraisers and the Executive Director of Annual Giving on special projects related to Annual Giving throughout the year. Annual Giving: Oversees and leads designated direct mailings for HMH hospitals and network fundraising, including developing content, strategy, layout, design and managing all logistics including but not limited to overseeing mailing lists, upgrade strategy for donors, and mailhouse vendors. Manages strategies to solicit lapsed donors and other special mailings to target specific donor groups with continued goal of returning donations, renewals, upgrading giving levels. Develops analytics processes and maintains analytics throughout the year, providing regular updates to the Executive Director and foundation leadership with recommendations for opportunities of growth and enhancements. Establishes, builds and enhances solicitation efforts and supports growth of annual giving fundraising. Works collaboratively with the Executive Director on other direct mail projects, especially related to key network priorities and annual giving fundraising efforts, including but not limited to Behavioral Health, School of Medicine and Children's Health. Oversee mailing logistics for special mailings, as needed, including list oversight and production logistics with vendors. Manages production schedules, works with vendors, interviews letter signers, writes content, prepares mailing lists, and analyzes results to make improvements. Creates and produces email appeals for HMH hospitals, other entities, and Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation.Updates appeal info in Raiser's Edge, including solicitation numbers and expenses. Prepares lists for the Foundation's operations team to upload back into Raiser's Edge to track donor appeals. Runs reports monthly to track progress to goals. Runs queries and reports as needed. Helps various areas as needed with online donation forms, email troubleshooting, queries in Raiser's Edge, converting PDFs, etc. Other duties and/or projects as assigned.Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:Baccalaureate degree from an accredited four-year college or university required. Minimum five (5) years of fundraising or related experience, including ideally two (2) - three (3) years frontline fundraising experience soliciting and closing gifts.Collegial team player able to interact effectively with diverse internal and external constituencies. Effective in a fast-paced environment and eager to contribute to the collaborative goals of an organization. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments and deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office platforms. Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:Experience working in or with corporations, within a philanthropic relationship, preferred. Healthcare philanthropy experience is a plus. Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate.
