SummaryThe Purchasing Specialist is responsible for issuing and processing purchase orders, managing Overage, Shortage, and Damaged (OS&D) goods, supply management, and working in collaboration with the Redistribution Center (RDC) to support customer service requirements at Hyundai, Genesis, and KIA dealers across North America.Essential Functions (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)Issue Purchase Orders (POs) to assigned suppliersNotify suppliers of open order statusCoordinate on-time delivery and order accuracy with suppliers regarding shipping processManage emergency parts orders and provide special shipping instructions to suppliersCommunicate with suppliers about performance and develop countermeasures for improvementManage Overage, Shortage, and Damaged (OS&D) goodsPrepare suppliers for OS&D and present countermeasures to Procurement departmentManage accounts payable for suppliers and address all payment inquiries from suppliersEnsure that existing contracts are enforced based on OEM contracts or Terms & Conditions set forth for service partsManage all supplier training; assist new suppliers with expectations for order management and communication, access to SRS portal, set up EDI, and required shipping documentsConfirm the supply part and supply unit for new model launches and new OP parts releasedReview supply fill rate, critical back-order parts, due-in parts, and past-due partsDocument in system each past due PO status, new model PO status, and dealer backorder statusDispatch all supplier information to sales groupAssist suppliers, pricing team and Mobis RDC with technical inquiries and issues; provide relevant information for review with HQ technical teamVisit suppliers on a regular basis or hold online conferences for those long distance to develop strong working relationship with supplier and understand their operations and constraintsPropose process improvements to increase fill rates and customer satisfactionAttend meetings with Distributors and OEM’s as necessarySupport plant escalation items—help coordinate all tasks between OEM, RDC, Pricing, and ProcurementPrompt, regular, predictable attendancePhysical presence at work during all scheduled work hoursOvertime and weekend work as requiredAll other job duties as assignedBasic Qualifications (The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities desired for this position.)Required Education & Experience:High School Diploma or EquivalentExperience in Warehousing/Purchasing, Customer Service, or SalesKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Organizational and Analytical skillsAbility to understand technical issues in productionAbility to use critical thinking for determining root causes and developing solutions/countermeasuresGood written and verbal communication skills; ability to accurately convey detailed informationAbility to extract data from system and analyze trends, report findings in logical mannerProficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPointPreferred Education & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Sales Management, Supply Chain Management, or related fieldCertificates, Licenses, and Registrations: N/AWorking ConditionsPosition hours: 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.Overtime as needed100% in office setting20% domestic and international travel
