Bachelor’s degree in a related specialized area or the equivalent experience is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations. We apply advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, AR/VR, Cloud Native and Quantum Physics to solve our customers’ missions in cyber, RF, undersea, interstellar and everything in between. **THIS IS A WEEKEND SHIFT POSITION (FRI - SUN 6AM - 6:30PM)**ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:As a Manufacturing Supervisor for General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) Precision Structures & Optics (PSO) located in Cullman, AL, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for providing daily front-line supervision and support for a team of technicians which includes planning and scheduling work, adhering to schedules and budgets, reviewing work processes, providing updates to management and key stakeholders, and the completion of staff performance appraisals. This includes maintaining quality control standards and implementing safety procedures.Manufacturing Supervisorsmanage materials, equipment, and personnel to optimize productivity and minimize waste. At General Dynamics Mission Systems we manufacture Beryllium products for use in the most demanding applications, across the aerospace, defense, and nuclear industries. Our products are used in high performance sensing systems for targeting and acquisition, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions, and are hardened for the battlefield environment.Representative Duties:Oversee daily machining operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standardsSupervise and train machining team members, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environmentMentor and develop team members, enhancing their skills and career growthRegularly assess performance of team members to established processes and proceduresCoordinate with the Engineering and Quality departments to resolve any production issuesImplement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costsContinuously improve machining processes and reduce production lead timesExperience managing tight production schedules while maintaining high quality and safety standardsStay updated with rapidly evolving machining technologies and techniquesAbility to balance the demands of production efficiency with the need for meticulous quality controlSkills / Knowledge / Abilities:Highly proficient in CNC machining and programmingProficient in interpreting technical drawings and blueprintsStrong leadership and team management abilitiesExcellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsKnowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologiesDetail oriented and meticulous in ensuring precision and accuracy in all tasksExcellent communicator, capable of conveying technical information clearly and effectivelyHighly organized, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficientlyCommitted to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest industry advancementsStrong sense of responsibility and dedication to maintaining high safety and quality standardsOur Commitment to You:An exciting career path with opportunities for continuous learning a developmentResearch oriented work, alongside award winning teams developing practical solutions for our nation’s securityFlexible schedules with every other Friday off work, if desired (9/80 schedule)Competitive benefits, including 401k matching, flex time off, paid parental leave, healthcare benefits, health and wellness programs, employee resource and social groups, and moreSee more at gdmissionsystems.com/careers/why-work-for-us/benefitsWorkplace Options:This position is fully on-site.
