Peraton is seeking a Electrical Engineer II to join our team of diverse, qualified individuals.The Electrical Engineer II works at the United States Postal Service (USPS) Central Repair Facility (CRF) in Topeka, KS.The CRF is a depot repair facility for USPS mail processing, delivery, and bulk mail systems repairable parts. Examples: repairing printed circuit boards, electrical, electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies to component level. The CRF provides depot level maintenance for essential automation, mechanization, retail and bulk mail processing systems used in all mail processing and retail installations.Our Electrical Engineer II performs a variety of engineering research and or product development in an engineering discipline such as electronic, electrical, systems and mechanical engineering. Ability to use advanced theory, mathematical, scientific, or engineering principles to solve problems, conduct testing, prepare documentation, create applications, or devices in the completion of their work. Assist and design and develop systems to test and validate solutions for repairable items.Specific tasks include:Designs, modifies and implements test plans, associated specifications, and engineering changes based on system / engineering requirementsAssists in design, development, and modification of systems, end items, machines, and associated test plansProvides technical support in assessments of determining repairable item status based on system requirementsSupports design and/or fabrication of electrical, mechanical, or electronic systems, assemblies, and subassembliesContributes to design modifications through CAD and schematic softwareContributes to the completion of assigned technical tasks and provides customer support in the engineering disciplineRepresents the organization and provides customer supportAbility to work in a team environmentAssists in reviewing procedures to ensure that the test and repair process is adequate for level of testingReviews and evaluates failure data received from field locations, and offers recommendations for resolutionsOffers technical solutions to a broad spectrum of difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectivesContributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projectsContacts are with immediate supervisor, project leaders, other professionals in the section or group and limited customer interactionConducts briefings and participates in technical meetings for internal or external representatives concerning specifics to operationsPerforms other related tasks as assigned#CRF2026Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree with 2 years experience or Master's degree with 0 years experienceU.S. CitizenshipAbility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the engineering field General knowledge of other related disciplines Experience with AutoCad and Cad type softwareExperience in aspects of design, development, research and new product introduction (NPI)Communicate effectively; both written and oral Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)Experience with schematic capture software and printed circuit board analysisUnderstanding of Analog/Digital Design, microelectronics, electrical systems and Software developmentPreferred Qualifications:Familiar with depot level repair and designFamiliar with device modeling (FPGAs, BGAs, etc)Familiar with Board and component layoutFamiliar with Schematic Capture S/WFamiliar with electronic, electromechanical components Familiar with Software design languages (JTAG, Arduino and similar languages)Familiar with Computer interface S/W (Python, ATEasy or similar interface software)Experience with system and test engineering methodology Green belt, LEAN or Agile certified Completed EITPE licensePhysical Requirements:Sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objectsPhysical activity may include reaching, walking, grasping, feeling, and talking, hearing and repetitive motionThe worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figuresPeraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
