Sr. Embedded Software Engineer

Responsibilities:Performs software design, analysis and implementation of real time embedded automotive diagnostic applicationsPerforms software design and implementation of vehicle interface software and protocolsUnderstands and implements methodologies for reverse engineering of vehicle communication protocols and potential areas for process improvementsAssumes responsibility for development and maintenance of project schedules, associated development documentation, and global release of all productsCollaborates with global OBD engineering staff in the development products applicable to all Snap-on markets Collaborates with Applications engineers in the development of innovative software solutions for vehicle specific functions and issuesAssists with development and execution of applications validation and testingPerforms technical analysis and comparison of competitive scan tool and handheld diagnostic platform products with existing Snap-on productsQualifications:BSCS, BSEE or BSSEMinimum 3 yrs firmware development experience in relevant fieldFluent in C, C++Real time embedded systems development experienceExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred:Previous automotive or OBD / Scan tool diagnostic software development experienceST Micro embedded systems development experienceARM microprocessor development experienceWindows and Ethernet development experience a plusSalary Range: $110k - $150kSnap-on Incorporated is a leading global innovator, manufacturer and marketer of tools, equipment, diagnostics, repair information and systems solutions for professional users performing critical tasks.
