This position includes standard supervisory functions such as, but not limited to, overseeing new employee training and evaluation, ensuring employee performance standards are met, and administering corrective actions and disciplinary actions.ResponsibilitiesUnderstand, administer and enforce all corporate and plant safety and compliance rules to employees under direct supervisionMonitor and ensure employees have a safe work environmentReinforce PPE policies, requiring all employees to wear steel toed shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hair nets/beard nets, etc.Ensure assigned work area is kept clean and organizedMonitor and ensure that all employees in assigned area are following all applicable food safety policies and proceduresCoordinate and facilitate all shipping and receiving of finished goods, raw material, and other miscellaneous itemsServe as first line supervisor for shipping employees to ensure all company goals and objectives are met. Hold employees accountable for performing all job assignmentsOversee placement of incoming trucksWork in conjunction with Finished Goods and Roll Stock Cycle Counters to maintain inventory control of finished goods for plantMaintain warehouse area for finished goods by completing weekly zone audits and addressing issuesCommunicate with Production, Maintenance and Scheduling in coordinating shipping responsibilitiesUnderstand labor agreement and company policies and procedures and hold employees on shift accountable according to the guidelines set forth in the agreement and by managementEvaluate employee performances, and administer counseling and/or disciplinary action, making sure that recurring problems are brought to the attention of the Shipping/Receiving ManagerEvaluate newly hired employees and make recommendations to Shipping/Receiving Manager and/or Human Resources Manager as to retraining and retentionTrain new employees or assign them to workers to be trainedListen to and report any grievances to manager; must be present at first step grievance meeting with Shipping/Receiving ManagerEnsure proper supplies are kept for the department while keeping costs to a minimumMeet/achieve safety, quality, production, waste, housekeeping and cost goals set forth by managementFollow all applicable food service policies and proceduresQualifications5 years of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environmentExperience operating a forklift is a plusEffective listening, speaking & writing ability in person and on the phoneAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and quality instructions, and procedural manualsAbility to complete routine reports and recordsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divideAbility to write clearly and concisely, using good grammar and professional styleSelf managing with organization and time management skills#INDQSRWhat You'll Get From UsBenefitsWith safety as our top priority and a commitment to employee well-being an important focus, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits that include medical, dental and vision insurance as well as a variety of other well-being resources focused on mental, physical and financial health.
