The Operator must correctly identify the matching drain basin body supplied from the Saw Room to load into the Layout machine. The data must be checked prior to executing the program for operation. The Operator must then properly label each drain basin with the application details as supplied from the sales order. Daily communication regarding department performance with Production Manager is required. Ultimate goal is to produce high quality parts with minimum downtime in the most safe and economical manner. The Drain Basin Layout Operator must be flexible to work 40+ hours per week. The Drain Basin Layout Operator reports directly to the Production Manager.Job Responsibilities:The tasks, duties, and responsibilities of the Drain Basin Layout Operator include, but are not limited to:Maintain accurate inventory of consumable items with replenishment schedulesMaintain accurate production records as related to scrapped productEnsure safe operations of the Layout machineMaintain pace with the production demand and its processesWork intimately with the saw room to manage incoming raw material to departmentProper set up and maintenance of equipment used in the departmentSupport Production Manager in daily activitiesSeek increased production efficiency by evaluating possibilities of process flow improvementsMonitor the quality of products produced and ensure that all corresponding product labels are attached and contain the proper informationMonitor quality of incoming raw material such that all preceding production processes are capable of being performed with supplied materialJob Skills:The Drain Basin Layout Operator should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:Ability to multi-task between many different functions simultaneouslyAbility to communicate at different levels within the organizationMechanically inclinedMake quick decisions on basin parameters based on prior departmental experienceWork well under stress and pressure of fast paced production environmentAble to work in a mechanical environment with hand tools and power toolsCapable of lifting product up to 40 pounds in an unergonomical environmentAbility to work at a high rate of quality with very specific attention to detailMathematical skillsBasic understanding of computers and programsEducational Requirements:High School education or equivalent.
