Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Registered Nurse

CVP is seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) to join our team providing care for our Nation's Veterans at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center,10701 East Blvd, Cleveland, OH 44106.Provide specialized nursing care to patients with spinal cord injuriesPerform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans focused on rehabilitation goals and outcomesAdminister medications, perform wound care, and manage complex medical needs specific to SCI patientsCollaborate closely with interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams including physical, occupational, and speech therapistsMonitor patient progress and adjust care plans based on rehabilitation goals and outcomesProvide patient and family education on self-care techniques, adaptive equipment usage, and transition planning for homeSupport patients through emotional and physical adjustment to injury or disabilityImplement bowel and bladder management programs specific to SCI patientsPrevent and manage complications common in SCI patients such as pressure injuries, respiratory issues, autonomic dysreflexia, and spasticityDocument patient care accurately in electronic medical recordsParticipate in team meetings and care conferences to coordinate comprehensive rehabilitation plansAdvocate for patients' needs within the healthcare systemMaintain current knowledge of evidence-based practices in SCI and rehabilitation nursingCurrent, full, active, and unrestricted RN license in any US state, territory, or the District of ColumbiaBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)Current BLS certificationCurrent ACLS certificationExperience in SCI nursingKnowledge of complications specific to SCI patients and appropriate nursing interventionsStrong interpersonal and communication skillsProficiency with electronic medical recordsAbility to successfully undergo a Government sponsored background investigation (US Citizenship required)LocationLouis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center,10701 East Blvd, Cleveland, OH 44106About CVPCVP is an award-winning healthcare and next-gen technology and consulting services firm solving critical problems for healthcare, national security, and public sector clients.
