Heat Treat Operator

Job Title: Heat Treat Operator 2nd & 3rd shift Job Description The role of a Heat Treat Operator requires specific knowledge of general heat treat requirements for a variety of metals, including aluminum, titanium, nickel-based alloys, stainless, and alloy steels. Candidates must be familiar with heat treat scheduling to ensure proper sequencing of products through heat treating. The position demands familiarity with the operation, adjustment, and routine maintenance of all furnace controllers. Responsibilities + Batch loads for optimum productivity under the direction of an operator. + Set thermal couples and prepare loads for optimal heat distribution under guidance. + Unload processed materials safely and efficiently. + Conduct heat treat and process furnace accuracy and uniformity surveys. + Move parts on and off pallets. + Interpret hardness ratings using measuring tools and standards. + Place workpieces into heating furnaces for specified periods. + Perform hardness testing using specific calibrated equipment. + Maintain a safe and organized workstation, adhering to all company policies, safety protocols, and procedures. Essential Skills + At least 1 year of manufacturing experience, particularly in working with metals. + Basic computer skills. + Basic math skills. + Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings. + Capability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High School Diploma or GED, with 1 to 3 years of relevant manufacturing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. + Certified to operate a forklift to approved O.S.H.A. standards. + Physically able to stand, walk, use hands, reach, and communicate effectively. + Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. + Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Work Environment This position is in a production environment, with work occurring both inside the department and outside. The shifts available are the 2nd shift from 1 PM to 9:30 PM, and the 3rd shift from 9 PM to 5:30 AM. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rancho Cucamonga, CA.
