Unlock your potential Job Summary and Qualifications The AVP of Academic Partnerships is responsible for development, organization, direction, implementation and evaluation of an infrastructure for a systems-approach to the academic partnerships and targeted programs to support the advancement of Methodist Healthcare System. This includes forming an maintaining strategic and collaborative academic partnerships with area universities, colleges, technical programs and high schools; scholarship program development and management; support for activities related to student onboarding and clinical rotation assignments; educational affiliation agreement management and oversight; DEU collaboration and implementation; oversight of externship programs; additional coordination relating to students and academic partnerships. This position will perform a variety of quality data entry and management functions that will include data entry, routine database maintenance and standard report generation, verification and distribution. Essential Job Functions + Builds strategic alliances and partnerships serving as the liaison between Methodist Healthcare System hospitals and local programs collaborating to maximize and optimize clinical rotations and enhance graduate preparedness. + Serves as the liaison between Methodist Healthcare System and Galen College of Nursing to collaborate and expand recruitment, and communicate benefits to potential students. + Develops and manages student scholarship programs facilitating recruitment and retention. + Develops and directs the nursing student recruitment strategies to support the pipeline from high schools to technical schools, colleges, and universities with facility senior teams. + Collaborates with Division and facility leadership to develop retention strategies for new graduates. + Establishes Academic Partnerships and facilitates Academic Practice Partnership Collaboration and activities. + Leads the day to day operations of academic partnerships that may include supporting Clinical Educators and clinical instructors in scheduling classes with applicable education materials and equipment, coordination of nursing student placement and schedules and facilitates communication with clinical education employees. + Provides leadership, coordination and oversight of externship or pre-licensure programs. + Develops strategies and provides support for Dedicated Education Units (DEUs). + Coordinates and oversees faculty and adjunct faculty onboarding and orientation. + Supports the efforts of market and hospital personnel providing required information in a timely manner for the hospital to maintain accreditation standards of the Joint Commission, Medicare, Medicaid and similar organizations. + Utilize and leverage data systems and tools, in order to examine, validate and drive performance. What qualifications you will need: + Masteru2019s degree in Nursing or Education required + Bacheloru2019s degree in Nursing required + 5+ yearsu2019 experience in acute care facility leadership role required + 3-5 years of experience in healthcare education required + Currently licensed as a registered nurse in the state of practice Texas required + Nursing Professional Development certification through American Nurses Credentialing Center or NPD certification preferred Methodist Healthcare is recognized as the most respected and preferred healthcare provider in the South Texas region.
